A review link is for one person with no account: a client, a stakeholder, a friend testing the shop. They open it, and the widget is there with their name on it. Their comments appear on the project’s Comments tab under that name, labelled with the branch the preview was built from. Owners and admins make them, in the project’s People tab, under Review links.
Create a link
Under Review links, write who it is for and the preview’s address, starting with
https://. Any page of the preview works, like/pricing: the link opens there. Choose when it expires, in 1, 7, 30 or 90 days, or Never expires, and press Create link.Copy it now
The link is shown once, with a Copy button: it cannot be shown again. Send it to the reviewer however you like. If it gets lost, delete it and create another.
See who has opened theirs
Each link has a row with the reviewer’s name, the preview’s address and its status. Not opened means nobody has used it yet; In use, that the reviewer has opened it and can comment. The row also says until when it works, or that it never expires. The list follows changes as they happen.
Delete a link
Delete, on the link’s row, cuts that reviewer off at once and takes the link off the list. A link that expires leaves the list too: neither can be used again, so there is nothing left to manage. The comments it wrote stay, with the reviewer’s name.
What reviewers see
The link opens review mode in one browser, the first that opens it. No account, no sign-in: the reviewer comments under the name on the link. Commenting on a page shows the widget from their side.
- A preview built in shared mode loads the widget for whoever opens it.
- On a site that loads the widget with the script tag, visitors see nothing: the widget stays asleep until a reviewer arrives through their link.
- Review mode is remembered in the reviewer’s browser, so they need the link once.
- Leave review mode, at the bottom of the comments panel, puts that browser back to how visitors see the site.
